Today’s breakfast was an impromptu stop at Meli’s Pancake House, 1320 5th Ave., Moline.

REVIEW: Doc Says To Make Moline's Meli's Pancake House Part Of Your Breakfast JourneyI didn’t expect to find a classic diner when I went in, however I’m always up for surprises.

This isn’t your usual Mom and Pop breakfast place, it’s something more. While the menu is full of the regular staple items, it offers a comfort in knowing anything you choose will be amazing REVIEW: Doc Says To Make Moline's Meli's Pancake House Part Of Your Breakfast Journeyand fit for your needs.

Whether a giant stack of fluffier than life pancakes or a perfectly cooked steak and eggs, the staff is there to make sure you’re happy.

The decor and feel gives tribute to our hometowns, walls adorned with an incredible mural and giant open windows to watch the hustle and bustle of the Downtown area.

If Meli’s is a flag ship of a resurgence to Downtown Moline, then I will gladly wait in port for whatever comes next.

Years from now I guarantee old photos will adorn the walls, like the simpler times before us, reminding us when this place was brand new and we didn’t have to fight aliens and androids for a place to sit.

Definitely make Meli’s part of your breakfast journey.
