The Steamwheelers have ground to a halt.

The Indoor Football League, which includes the Quad City Steamwheelers, has decided to cancel the 2020 season.

Steamwheeler representatives posted the following on their facebook page:

“Though we are extremely disappointed we could not continue play we support the decision 100% as the health and safety for our players, staff and fans are paramount. We are looking forward to making a huge return in 2021! To all of our fans, sponsors, players, and partners we hope to keep all of you locked in for 2021. The IFL will expand to a 16 game season giving all involved an extra FREE game as a perk for the given circumstances. Thank you for all of your support in these trying times. Go Wheelers!”

More information about the Steamwheelers and future plans for the IFL will be forthcoming on your site for free local entertainment and features, QuadCities.com.
