July Beat in the Street

Enjoy a free, fun-filled, family night out this Wednesday!

Eldridge-North Scott Chamber of Commerce will be hosting July’s Beat in the Street this Wednesday Jul 22 from 6 – 9 p.m. along South 4th Avenue in Eldridge.

Come out for a great night of music, food vendors, free bounce house and the Quad Cities Cruisers Car Show! Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy live 50’s and 60’s rock music from The Tailfins.

Health-safety measures will be in place for Beat in the Street. Here is a statement from the organizers:

“After much deliberation, the North Scott Chamber of Commerce’s Board of Directors has voted to continue planning our Beat in the Street Summer Concert scheduled for July 22.

As many of you are aware, the North Scott Chamber had to cancel several events that were to take place during the early stages of the COVID-19 pandemic. As we move forward, please know that we are monitoring Scott County case numbers daily, and will be following state and city guidelines for public gatherings.

We feel that the event location on S. 4th Avenue will offer ample space for social distancing and safe behaviors. We will post signs and ask all in attendance to behave in a manner that we know slows the spread of the virus. Please remain six feet apart from non-family members, stay in your own small groups, children must be in the presence of an adult at all times, and we will request our vendors to wear masks and have hand sanitizer at their booths.

Please support us as we try to navigate in this new world. If we can safely hold these great events we will continue to do so.”

2020 Quad-City Times Virtual Bix 7

The 46th Annual Quad-City Times Bix 7 has been changed to a virtual only event this year.

Since 1975, the Quad-City Times Bix 7 has been a Midwest summer tradition, bringing thousands of runners from across the globe to Run With the Best. Participants have been completing their race distances since Jul 1, at all locations: sidewalks, treadmills, trails, living rooms and tracks.

To commemorate what would have been an event-filled weekend, you can check out the participants’ journeys on social media through pictures, videos and tik-toks – using the tags #qctbix7virtual #findyourhappypace #qctbix7 #runwiththebest #allinthistogether.
