WQPT's Imagination Station Chugs In Saturday

WQPT, PBS for the Quad Cities Region is hosting their 2019 Imagination Station for kids on March 16 on the campus of Western Illinois University-Quad Cities. The sold-out event will host over 4,000 children. The first session begins at 9 am and runs through 11 am. The second session begins at noon and runs through 2 pm. WQPT Invites Public To Preview New Ken Burns Documentary

WQPT, PBS for the Quad-Cities, invites the public to preview screenings of a new Ken Burns documentary “THE MAYO CLINIC: FAITH – HOPE – SCIENCE.”   Each screening event will include a 36-minute preview of the Ken Burns documentary about the Mayo Clinic, and a panel discussion of the film.   A “Science” themed screening – featuring a panel discussion with local doctors who trained at Mayo – will take place on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:00pm in the Putnam Museum’s Giant Screen Theater.   A “Faith” themed screening – featuring two of the leaders of the Rochester... Read More

WQPT Writing Contest Winners Selected

WQPT received 265 stories from students in kindergarten through third grade for the annual PBS/WQPT KIDS Writers Contest. Sixteen winners (four from each grade) were selected by educators and contest sponsors. WQPT announces its annual PBS KIDS Writers Contest empowering children in grades K-3 to celebrate creativity and build literacy skills by writing and illustrating their own stories. Stories, which must be the original work of the child, may be non-fiction, fiction, prose or poetry. WQPT, Quad Cities PBS is pleased to introduce its 2017 WQPT/PBS Ambassadors, an elite volunteer corps made up of college students.
