The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Faculty Recital at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall. Professor and clarinetist Eric Ginsberg and pianist Jeffrey Brown, director of the School of Music, will perform Poulenc’s Sonata for clarinet and piano, and will be joined by Assistant Professor and cellist Kenny Lee to perform Beethoven’s Trio in B-flat Major for Clarinet, Cello, and Piano, Op. 11. MACOMB/MOLINE, IL – – The word CEO usually conjures images of high-powered executives at Fortune 500 companies; but in McDonough County and rural counties all over the Midwest, it may look like a high school student selling homemade ice cream or automotive detailing services. The Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities (CEO) program was developed in Fall 2008 by Effingham County teacher Craig Lindvah. A ribbon cutting and dedication ceremony for the Dr. Frank Lupton Pavilion at Horn Field Campus will begin at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 21, with remarks at 4:15 p.m. The event is hosted by the Western Illinois University Department of Recreation, Park and Tourism Administration. It will be held rain or shine. Lupton, also known as “Doc,” was a professor emeritus from WIU’s RPTA program, who retired in 1993. MOLINE, IL – The Western Illinois University Counselor Education and College Student Personnel department has announced the opening of the WIU LGBTQ+ Clinic. The Western Illinois University Art Education department will offer a free Community Art Program for students in first through fourth grades over three Sundays in October and November. The classes will be held from 1-2:30 p.m. Oct. 30, and Nov. 6 and 13 in Garwood Hall. Classes for first and second graders will be held in room 24 and classes for third and fourth graders will be held in room 25. The Western Illinois University chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity, will host its 8th annual Haunted Trail fundraiser from 7-9 p.m. Friday-Saturday, Oct. 28-29. The event will be held on the fraternity house property at 620 W. Elting St., in Macomb, and the entrance to the trail begins at the front door of the house. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door, and can be purchased through the chapter’s Venmo account at DU-WIU, or from a member of the chapter.
