Library’s November Community Comforts Drive Collects for Heart of Hope, Rocky Resource Room

If you’re feeling the November spirit ofgratitude for your own blessings, the Rock Island Public Library is offering an easy way to give to people in need. The Library’s “Community Comforts” drive will collect donations of household supplies and personal care items through December 4. Rock Island Public Library hosts Kevin Braafladt, Army Sustainment Command Deputy Historian at the Rock Island Arsenal, for the final lecture in the Army Sustainment Command WWI Lecture Series: The Armistice & The Occupation of Germany. Halloween Crafternoon Offers Kids Program At Rock Island Library Monday

It’s a surprise Halloween Crafternoon! Drop in for a fun Halloween craft at our Southwest Library, 9010 Ridgewood Road, between 4 to 6 pm on October 25. Craft is suitable for kids with some adult supervision. This event is free and available for any age: School ages Kindergarten-6th grades, Teens ages 12 to 18, Adults 18 and up, individuals and families. Parents and other caregivers now have two options for storytimes at the Rock Island Public Library. In addition to the library’s ongoing virtual storytimes, offered at 10:30 am on Tuesdays via Facebook Live, the library has begun a limited in-person Friday storytime at the Rock Island Public Library Southwest branch, 9010 Ridgewood Road. The in-person version will be offered at 10:30 am on October 1. Whenever possible, the in-person storytimes will be offered outside.
