Innovation and collaboration in the face of an unprecedented challenge helped the St. Ambrose University Theatre Department and KALA-FM, the public radio station on campus, combine to win a first-place national award at the annual Intercollegiate Broadcasting System conference on Saturday, March 6. Galvin Fine Arts Center Recoups Some Covid Losses With Grant

St. Ambrose University’s Galvin Fine Arts Center has received $27,300 from the state of Iowa from the program offering economic relief to the state’s arts and culture industry. The grant (announced late last month) is provided through the Iowa Arts & Culture Recovery Program, and will reimburse Galvin for some losses incurred in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Eleven Quad-Cities Cultural Groups Get $500K in New Iowa Funding

Eleven cultural organizations and three artists in the Quad-Cities were among those to receive a share of $7 million in new grants announced Tuesday by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs. A total of 267 cultural organizations and 152 artists serving 118 Iowa communities will get funding, made possible by the Coronavirus, Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, on Dec. 2.
