Wayne Names His Midseason MVPs For Fantasy Football

Here are my Mid-Season Fantasy MVPs. In most fantasy leagues this is a list of top point earners. If you have any or all of these guys on your team, you’re probably sitting pretty right now. If not, well, it’s probably been a long season! Anyway, here are my picks: Quarterback Matt Ryan Honorable mentions  Drew Brees and Derek Carr Running Backs Melvin Gordon , DeMarrco Murray Honorable mentions Ezekiel Elliott, David Johnson Wide Receivers Julio Jones, Antonio Brown, Mike Evans Honorable mentions – A.J. Green, T.Y. Hilton Tight End Greg Olsen Honorable mentions – Delanie Walker, Jack... Read More

Rants And Raves On The Fantasy Football Season So Far

Rants And Raves On The Fantasy Football Season So Far

It has been hard to concentrate on Fantasy this week with the Cubs winning the World Series; here are some rants and raves for this week. Tom Brady is awesome if you didn’t draft him you made a mistake. Julian Edelman’s production is way down this year; he is no longer a viable number 1 WR for fantasy.  Tom Brady just has too many weapons. Continue to start Green Bay’s WRs, they just got Knile Davis and cut him after 1 game (active).  The air attack is on for the pack! Tony Romo is done in Dallas, trade him or drop him. Former Iowa TE C.J. Fiedorowicz is healthy and becoming a primary target... Read More

Wide Receivers To Pick Up For The Winning Final Stretch

Wide Receivers To Pick Up For The Winning Final Stretch

The Wide Receivers could be the key to you winning your league!  Here are some that may be flying under your radar.  Take a look and take your pick.  They are not in a specific order. Darrius Heyward-Bey and Sammie Coates of the Pittsburgh Steelers.  Both had great speed and are open often because of all the attention paid to Antonio Brown. Cole Beasely of the Dallas Cowboys is rookie QB Dak Prescott’s security blanket.  Beasely will get more attention with the return of Dez Bryant, who will get double covered a lot. Allen’s Hurns and Robinson are both number one receivers in Jacksonville. ... Read More

Strategies For The Bye Weeks In Fantasy Football

Strategies For The Bye Weeks In Fantasy Football

The Bye weeks are upon us, adjust your lineups accordingly! Here are some suggestions: Detroit Lions QB Matthew Stafford.  The Lions are looking somewhat better and Stafford is getting the ball to different receivers, don’t overlook him. Jacksonville Jaguars QB Blake Bortles. Bortles is probably not a long term solution at QB, but the Jags do play the Bears and are coming off a bye week and a win. Tennessee Titans QB Marcus Mariota.  The Titans face the lowly Cleveland Browns, and are at home, hard to go wrong with Mariota. Tennessee Titans RBs Demarco Murray and Derrick Henry.  This hard... Read More

QB Tips For Fantasy Teams

QB Tips For Fantasy Teams

QB tips for the week Bench Carolina Panthers QB Cam Newton.  He does have decent numbers, but the Panthers are looking bad this year, which leads to a lot of bad decisions and concussion protocol. Start Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan.  He has thrown for almost 1500 and 11 TDs in 4 games. Keep starting New Orleans QB Drew Brees.  The Saints are terrible, but Brees is putting up numbers each game. Start San Diego Chargers QB Phillip Rivers.  The Chargers are terrible, but Rivers keeps them in every game. Drop Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo. Bench New York Giants QB Eli Manning.  He has 3 quality... Read More

Rookie Pickups To Help You Win Your League

Rookie Pickups To Help You Win Your League

Grab these Rookies and young players to dominate the rest of this year’s fantasy league! Dallas Cowboys QB rookie Dak Prescott has been solid the past three weeks.  Tony Romo is just a twig in a slight breeze waiting to be broken once again. Houston Texans WRS Will Fuller V (a rookie) and DeAndre Hopkins (4th year), these two combine to form a dynamic duo for the Texans.  Even though the Texans were recently beat by a 3rd string QB, they still demand attention. Denver Broncos 2nd year QB Trevor Siemian, is not a game manager!   He and the Broncos DEF are for real!  Denver is back and probably... Read More

A Look Back On Week Two and Predictions For A Wild Week Three in Fantasy Football

Quick Hits from each game last week, while looking at what they might mean for week three: New York Jets 37  Buffalo 36 Rex Ryan will not make it to the Bye week, which 10.  They will lose next week to Arizona and then lose to the 3rd string QB from New England, and then get fired. Watch the IR and Q lists if you own Jets WR Brandon Marshall, he could be done for the year. Cincinnati 16  Pittsburgh 24   If you have a Bengal RB you were hurting as Jeremy Hill lead the team with 22 yards The Old Man,  Steelers RB DeAngelo Williams, continues to make us not miss suspended RB Le’Veon Bell. ... Read More

It’s A Case of the Rich And The Poor As Fantasy Football Begins

It’s A Case of the Rich And The Poor As Fantasy Football Begins

It’s a case of the rich and the poor as fantasy football begins its season, as injuries and poor performance have collided with breakout performances and sleepers going wild. Here’s a look at the first week of the season . . . The Rich Denver Broncos RB C.J Anderson, in week 1, scoring over 46 (24 points over his projection) points in most leagues. Wasn’t too crazy on the Broncos for Fantasy offense, but they have another dimension, a Fullback.  They will run a lot to keep pressure off QB Trevor Siemian.  Don’t look for Anderson to do this every week.  Consider him a 2 RB. New England... Read More

Looking Ahead To The AFC In Fantasy Football

Looking Ahead To The AFC In Fantasy Football

Last week I looked at the NFC, now it’s on to the AFC… AFC EAST Buffalo Bills Keeper – RB LeSean McCoy.  “Shady” has looked good in preseason!  Rex Ryan will run him a lot; if he stays healthy he could be a top 3 RB this year.  Round 3. Sleeper – TE Charles Clay.  WRs Sammy Watkins and Robert Woods will get plenty of looks, in the red zone look for Clay to get plenty of chances all season.  Round 4. Bust – RB Reggie Bush.  Someone always drafts this has been, always.  DO NOT DRAFT HIM!  A strong wind will blow in Buffalo and he will sprain an ankle and be out for... Read More

Wayne’s Fantasy Football Preview Offers Tough Tips And Hard-Hitting Help

“Really, I can actually write about fantasy football?” That’s what I thought after talking to QuadCities.com Director of Digital Media Sean Leary one night on social media. “Yeah, that’s what I’m hiring you to do!” he said. Sign me up! So, here are my first fantasy football musings.  I am going to focus on a keeper, a sleeper and a bust for each team.  This is going to be sooooo fun! NFC East Dallas Cowboys Keeper – WR Dez Bryant, is there even a question?  There are not a lot of options here.  I feel rookie RB Ezekiel Elliot will either get injured or suspended.  Dez,... Read More
