Augustana Horn Choir Gets Its Brass Up This Weekend

The Horns are calling! Augie’s Horn Choir is performing on Sunday, February 5 at 4:00 p.m. at Wallenberg Hall on Augustana Campus. This recital will include performances of Wagner, Saint-Saens, Strauss, and many more! The first half of the program will be performed by junior hornist, Alina Lundholm, accompanied by Dr. Charles Schmidt and a duet will be performed with senior hornist Bri Meyer. Crimes Of The Heart Opens At Augustana

      The gripping drama Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley will be playing on the Kim and Donna Brunner Main Stage at Augustana College from January 27 through February 5. The play tells the story of the three McGrath sisters, together again in their hometown of Hazelhurst, Mississippi. Lenny is the caretaker of their granddad. Meg, the middle sister, left home to pursue stardom as a singer in Los Angeles, but so far has only found happiness at the bottom of a bottle. Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble Is ‘Unbound’ This Weekend

Augustana College’s Jenny Lind Vocal Ensemble will perform their concert titled, “Anchored & Unbound: Songs of Faith, Hope & Freedom” at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 29 at First Lutheran Church in Geneseo, Ill. The group is a select women’s ensemble for singers who wish to develop advanced choral skills. The group is conducted by Dr. Michael Zemek and accompanied by Gail Baldwin.
