Rock Island’s Mulkey’s Closing Forever

A Rock Island institution will be no more in a little more than a week.

Mulkey’s restaurant, which has been a family-owned Quad City favorite for over 60 years, will close its doors for the last time July 13.

Famous for delicious Henny Penny Fried Chicken, Catfish, Hot Roast beef and Hot Turkey, Mulkey’s has long been a comfortable and welcoming spot for Quad-Cities. However, changing trends and the lingering difficulties for sit-down restaurants following covid made life extremely difficult for the honored nostalgic spot.

The owners posted the following announcement on social media:
