george-schulzEach Friday and Saturday night, there is an adult level after show following the regularly scheduled Comedy Sportz performance in the District of Rock Island. This is the point where the kids exit the building so the bigger kids can let loose on stage. There is a different show every Friday and Saturday night. They rotate and come up with new ideas all the time to add into the mix.

The show from last weekend is known as “Don’t Try This At Home”. Talk about a full house! I almost had to stand up for the show. Luckily, there was a spot by the bar just perfect for me. I needed to be sitting down for this show. Physical comedy has always been a part of the shows there at The Establishment. The cast is awesome and has zero problem giving up certain levels of pride for their role in making the audience laugh.

Strange occurrences throughout the show left me shivering. During one skit, they were doing everything from playing dead to chugging hot sauce. And one guy was chugging wasabi. I can only hope that guy is ok! And the ever-memorable “no reason” moment was when they strapped “Monster” George Schulz’s chest with a giant-sized rubber band and two people stretched it out and released at the same time.  I think even George was ready to tap out at that moment.

Needless to say, this show was hilarious, as all shows are at this theatre. If you are visiting the Quad Cities or living here, make sure you get down there and enjoy a show. The Comedy Sportz routines always begin at 7pm and the adult shows come at 9:30pm after a short intermission. The bar stays open all night and they have excellent snacks for affordable prices.  Do not miss out on seeing one of their shows! You will never forget this cast.
