Western Illinois University Baseball Alumni Return To Campus This Spring

Alumni from the Western Illinois University baseball team descended on Macomb this April to celebrate the program’s history.

Players from six different decades were in Macomb to renew old friendships, develop new relationships and cheer on the players of the 2025 WIU Baseball team. The 16 alumni on hand were honored in pregame on-field ceremonies before a three-game series against Lindenwood.

The alumni featured were Steve Knowles ’71, Connie Kowal ‘74, Brian Peck ‘77, Steve Pastrovich ‘79, Bob Waropay ‘79, Mike Roscetti ‘83, Steve Jeffers ‘86, Dave Martin ‘87, Dave Eck ‘88, Pat Hise ‘88, John Reynolds ‘91, Corny Stanley ‘92, Tim Funkhouser ‘94, Tim Richardson ‘97, Nick Meyer ‘03 and Alex Dorethy ‘21.

“Thanks to everyone who was able to attend our Western Illinois Baseball Alumni Weekend 2025,” WIU Baseball head coach Terry Davis said. “As we build a program here in Macomb it is very important to us that we incorporate the past, with the present and future of our program. Thanks to everyone who made this weekend possible. Go Necks.”
