Horizon Science Academy Davenport Students Excel at STEMCON
Davenport, IA — 4/29/2026— It was a proud moment for students and staff at Horizon Science Academy Davenport as they delivered an exceptional performance at Concept Schools’ annual STEMCON event. Competing against more than 1,000 students in grades 4–12 from across the network, HSA Davenport students demonstrated excellence, innovation, and determination—earning top placements across multiple competitions.
Two all-girls coding teams from HSA Davenport earned 1st and 2nd place in RoboCON, showcasing both technical skill and the growing impact of young women in STEM fields.
STEMCON is a one-day STEM extravaganza that unites four major academic experiences—CONSEF, STEM Expo, RoboCON, and the Math Olympics—into a dynamic and engaging environment. The event provides students with opportunities to collaborate, compete, and apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios across science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

The celebration extended beyond Davenport, as students from Horizon Science Academy Des Moines also represented their school with excellence by competing in MathCON, continuing to raise the bar for student achievement across Iowa.
STEMCON is free and open to the public, inviting families and community members to experience the excitement of student innovation firsthand. From interactive demonstrations to high-level competitions, the event highlights the creativity, curiosity, and talent of the next generation. STEMCON took place Saturday, April 25th, 2026 in Chicago, IL.
