Bettendorf Police Department Issues Traffic Alert for Memorial Day

If you are traveling on Memorial Day, expect some short delays near the TBK Bank Sports Complex. On Monday, May 29th starting at 7am, the Quad Cities Running Festival supporting Live Fit With Lupus begins at the TBK Bank Sports Complex, 4850 Competitive Drive, and will use a portion of Forest Grove Drive for a short period of time. On Forest Grove Drive from Devils Glen Road to Friendship Path, east and west traffic will be alternating. Officers and volunteers will be in the area directing traffic. Summer Is on our doorstep and the Bettendorf Public Library is set to celebrate with the return of its wildly popular Summer Concert Series. The eleven-week series starts on June 1st and takes place each Thursday night at 6:30 PM at Faye’s Field located at 2850 Learning Campus Dr. in Bettendorf. On Tuesday, May 16th at 10am, the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics begins outside the Bettendorf Police Department – 1609 State Street, Bettendorf. The Quad Cities Registered High School Apprenticeship 2023 Signing Day Event was held today at the Waterfront Center in Bettendorf! During this event 55 students from the Davenport Community School District signed apprenticeships with area employers. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds also attended the event and signed the Office of Apprenticeship bill into law, surrounded by local students and members of the apprenticeship program. Bettendorf Public Works Crews Start to Remove Flood Barriers Today

U.S. 67 (River Drive), Grant Street, and 6th Street are back open as the Mississippi River recedes. As part of the reopening process, Bettendorf Public Works Crews cleaned and inspected the roadways for damage, as well as removed the concrete barriers and ensured floodwaters did not harm the electricity connected to traffic lights. Public Works Crews are now focusing on Leach Park, which remains closed to the public. Starting May 11, workers will start removing debris and the concrete flood wall.
