This Sunday, Oct 8 from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. the LeClaire Levee will be celebrating all things pertaining to fall, with their Apple Fest on the River. Apples, apple cider and a variety of homemade food items will be featured at this event. The LeClaire Lions Club will also be selling chili, hot dogs, chili dogs and pork chop sandwiches. Eardrum-splitting, headbanging metal music isn’t usually considered the soundtrack to kindness and altruism, but a cadre of axe shredders are getting together once more for a caring cause at the Headbangers for Hayden Concert from noon to midnight Sept. 30 at Rose Bowl, 1411 Grandview Ave, Muscatine. Hayden Daufeldt, son of Cory and Kendra Daufeldt, was diagnosed with Pineoblastoma, a rare brain cancer, in November 2014. He passed away at age 4 on August 6.
