Never skated before? Not to worry! The Learn to Skate program offers a variety of classes for people of all ages seeking to learn. The traditional 8-week sessions run year-round. This season the following levels will be offered: Beginner Snowplow, Basic Skills, Free Skate, Hockey, and Adult classes. Continued small class sizes throughout the Fall. Registration deadline is 8/23. Classes begin 8/26 and 8/28. Over 14 percent of Quad-Citians could face evictions today after the expiration of the rent moratorium due to covid-19. In June, CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky signed an extension to the eviction moratorium further preventing the eviction of tenants who were unable to make rental payments. The moratorium that was scheduled to expire on June 30, 2021 was extended through July 31, 2021 — yesterday. U.S. Bank Foundation today announced a $1 million investment to 20 nonprofit organizations, including Moline-based Mercado on 5th Inc. – “driven by a diverse group of exceptional emerging leaders who are focused on creating effective community-led solutions toward the increasing economic disparities,” according to a Wednesday release from Mercado.
