Today, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17), a member of the powerful House Appropriations Committee, announced that she secured $10 million for the Quad Cities Manufacturing Lab and $400,000 for small business-focused programming at Western Illinois University’s (WIU) Quad-Cities campus in a major funding package. New Moline Book Group Examines Issues of Economics, Justice

Project NOW and the Moline Public Library are launching a new book group to explore important community issues – housing, economics, education, healthcare, and justice. The Rooting Out Poverty Book Discussion Group begins on Tuesday, March 29 at 6:30pm at the library (3210 41st Street, Moline). Future discussion dates and titles will be shared at this meeting. The Geodeland Earth Science Clubs, Inc. (GESCI) will host its 41st annual Gem, Mineral and Fossil Show from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday, March 12, and from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, March 13 in the Western Illinois University Union Grand Ballroom. The School of Music at Western Illinois University, will present its 35th annual New Music Festival 2022 Monday-Tuesday, March 7-8. The events that make up the festival will be held in Browne Hall and in the College of Fine Arts and Communication Recital Hall.
