‘Heidi’ Screening And Lecture Coming To Figge

The German American Heritage Center is sponsoring a new film and lecture series called “Germans in Hollywood” that debuts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7 at the Figge Art Museum, John Deere Auditorium. The first film to be screened is “Heidi.” Cost is $5. Presenter Fred Isele will introduce “Heidi,” an American musical drama film directed by Allan Dwan. The screenplay was based on the 1880 children’s story by Swiss author Johanna Spyri. Pecha Kucha sounds like something you’d catch in Pokemon Go or a trip to Tijuana, but it’s actually the Figge Art Museum’s monthly event wherein speakers speak on any subject for 400 seconds, with 20 slides timed at 20 seconds per slide.
