Western Illinois School of Music Presents JSO Concert Friday

The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a Jazz Studio Orchestra (JSO) Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 27, in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The JSO is under the direction of Whitney Ashe, WIU Director of Jazz Studies.

This performance is open free for general audience seating and will be live-streamed on the School of Music’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.

The program will include:

Corner Pocket – Don Wolf and Freddie Green
Ahunk Ahunk – Thad Jones
After You’ve Gone – Thelonious Monk/arr. Oliver Nelson
Blood Count – Billy Strayhorn
Fan it, Janet – Don Sebesky
Blues for Stephanie – John Clayton
Tell Your Story – Bob Florence
Meet a Cheetah – Don Sebesky
