Quad City Music Guild Unveiling 'Secret Garden'

Quad City Music Guild presents “The Secret Garden” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sundays March 27-19 and April 3-5 at Quad City Music Guild Theater, 1584 34th Avenue, Moline.

This enchanting classic of children’s literature is reimagined in brilliant musical style by Pulitzer prize-winning composers Lucy Simon and Marsha Norman.

Orphaned in India, 11 year-old Mary Lennox returns to Yorkshire to live with her embittered, reclusive uncle Archibald and his invalid son, Colin.

The estate’s many wonders include a magic garden, which beckons the children with haunting melodies. The Dreamers, spirits from Mary’s past, guide her through her new life, dramatizing The Secret Garden’s compelling tale of forgiveness and renewal.

The show is a winner of the 1991 Tony Award for Best Book of a Musical and 1991 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Book of a Musical.
