The Quad City Botanical Center announces new summer drop in programs, family activities, story times and day camps for kids.

Do hands on activities with your kids to learn about nature. New topic each Thursday, free for members or included with admission. No RSVP required. Great for kids entering K-4, but fun for all ages.

SECOND TUESDAY EACH MONTH
10:30-11:30 AM AND 2:00-3:00 PM
Enjoy a story and take your craft and snack home for a no contact revised program. KinderNature is for kids 3-5, RSVP required, $8 per child and adult pair. July topic is Sunflowers and August is Prairie Play.

NEW SUNDAY FUNDAY AT NIGHT
FIREFLIES: LANTERNS OF THE NIGHT
JULY 5, 7:00-9:00 PM
Come for this special nighttime version of our popular Sunday Funday family program. Learn about fireflies and why the populations are falling. If you have fireflies at home, catch them and bring them for a nighttime release at the gardens. Free for members or included with admission, no RSVP required.

NEW ECO ART CAMP
JULY 27-31, 9:00 AM-12:00PM
Young artists ages 5-12 are invited to a weeklong morning art camp to discover nature from an artist’s point of view. Create artwork from nature on topics including plant art, soil art and water art. We’ll have fun in the sun and explore different types of art mediums as we interact with nature in our gardens. Campers’ artwork will be displayed at our Art In the Garden event August 1 and artists will receive passes to attend their exhibition. RSVP required, June camp is sold out.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE GARDENS
Guests are required to wear a mask at all times
Entrance is at the gate on the east lawn, the building is closed to guests
No family groups greater than 10 people
Social distance from other groups
Please notice and obey signage including one ways and closed areas
Please maintain social distance from guests, staff and volunteers

MANDATED LIMITATIONS
The building is closed including restrooms, portable restroom located by the west door near the Pollinator Garden
The Children’s Garden is temporarily closed due to state mandates on water play
Pat’s Garden, Hobbit House, Greenhouse, Sun Garden and Canopy are temporarily closed due to inability to properly social distance
No indoor access to the train garden due to inability to properly social distance, but you can view the train garden through the fence
The Garden Store is temporarily closed but you may now shop online for next day pick up
