Quad Cities Chess March Madness Coming To Western Illinois This Weekend

Q-C March Madness 2025 will be presented Saturday, March 8, 2025 – An Iowa Mini-Qualifier at Western Illinois University Q-C, 3300 River Drive – Moline, Ill., Riverfront Hall/Rooms 104-105

Three sections

USCF-rated Open Section (Iowa Mini-Qualifier): USCF and IASCA membership required. Join USCF https://new.uschess.org/join-us-chess Join IASCA https://www.iowa-chess.org/join IASCA membership, $10 available on-site. Other states OK. 4 round Swiss. Rds 10 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. TC: G/65, d5. Prizes: 1st: $150, 2nd: $100, 3rd: $75, 4th: $50. EF: $30 online before 3/1. Between 3/1-3/6 $40. After 3/6 & at door: $50. Unrated Beginner Kids Section: For kids just getting started in tournament play and do not have a USCF rating. $10 entry fee. Register online at https://www.kingregistration.com/event/quadcitymarchmadness2025. Cash only sign up at door from 8:30-9:30 a.m. 4 round Swiss-style tournament. Additional information: Byes: One 1/2 point bye per player. Last round bye must be requested prior to the start of round 2. Byes for other rounds must be requested 1 hour prior to start of round. NO ELECTRONIC SCORESHEETS. Cell phones must be off when in playing area. Light refreshments and pizza provided by Western Illinois University.
