Hawk Daddy Jon Stravers Coming To Butterworth Center In Moline
Birds, Floods & Global Discoveries – A Special Evening with Jon Stravers is flying into the Quad Cities at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11.
The event will take place at the Butterworth Center – Library Room, 1105 8th Street, Moline, hosted by Quad City Audubon Society

Join legendary ornithologist and musician Jon Stravers—affectionately known as “Hawk Daddy”—for an evening of bird science, storytelling, and song. With over 40 years of research on Red-shouldered Hawks and Cerulean Warblers, Jon’s work has helped designate parts of Northeast Iowa as Globally Important Bird Areas. His presentations blend ecological insight with music, humor, and heart.
Highlights include:
• Red-shouldered Hawk nesting collapse along the Mississippi
• Cerulean Warbler discoveries and global impact
• Bird photography from Costa Rica, Baffin Island & New Mexico
