Based on Arnold Lobel’s well-loved books, and featuring a hummable score by Robert and Willie Reale, the whimsical A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD follows two great friends – the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad – through four fun-filled seasons.

Waking from hibernation in the spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. Along with pals that include birds, moles, squirrels, and an especially slow snail, the two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make-believe, and all charm, A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD  is a family production not to be missed.

Directing A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD is longtime Circa ’21 veteran Kim Kurtenbach, whose stage appearances at the venue have includes roles in Fiddler on the Roof, Southern Crossroads, and The King & I. The show’s musical director is another Circa ’21 favorite – Rachelle Walljasper, whose own credits for the theatre include The Music Man, Church Basement Ladies, and The Dixie Swim Club. Choreographing the production is Erin Churchill, familiar from such venue hits as Cats, Grease, and Irving Berlin’s White Christmas.

Featured among A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD’s cast of five terrifically talented performers are Janos Horvath and Brad Hauskins as Frog and Toad – actors who have appeared in dozens of Circa ’21 family presentations over the decades – along with returning venue performers Marc Ciemiewicz, Morgan Griffin, and Noel Huntley.

Circa ’21 is thrilled to gather this group of tremendous talents for such a delightful stage adventure, and encourages audiences to “Hop to it!” and make reservations at (309)786-7733 extension 2 for the storybook magic of A YEAR WITH FROG & TOAD!
