For the final production in its 39th season, Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse is rolling out the Tony Award-winning Broadway smash “Million Dollar Quartet,” running this weekend through November 5. A celebration of four of history’s most legendary recording artists  – Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins – this long-requested title is finally making its area debut at the Rock Island  dinner theatre, and will be brought to life by a marvelous cast of professional talents.

“Million” will be performed at Circa ’21 on Wednesday, Friday, and Saturdays evenings at 7:45 p.m., Sundays at 5:45 p.m., and Wednesday matinées at 1:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $50.16 for the evening dinner-and-show productions and $44.41 for the plated-lunch matinées.

Reservations are available through the Circa ’21 ticket office. For reservations, contact the theatre at 1828 Third Avenue, Rock Island or by calling (309)786-7733 extension 2. Online reservations may also be made by visiting www.Circa21.com and clicking on “order tickets now.”

One of this decade’s biggest Broadway hits, “Million Dollar Quartet” is the musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock ‘n’ roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. On December 4, 1956, these four young musicians gathered at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jam sessions ever, and this Tony-winning treat allows you to be a fly on the wall of fame for one unforgettable night.

Directed by Circa ’21 veteran Curt Wollan, whose other productions for the theatre include Church Basement Ladies, Southern Crossroads, and The Lovely Liebowitz Sisters, “Million” boasts a thrilling score that includes such timeless rock, soul, and blues hits as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “That’s All Right,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Walk the Line,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Hound Dog,” and many more. The show’s cast, meanwhile, features five gifted professionals making their Circa ’21 debuts, along with three whose talents will likely be familiar to frequent Circa ’21 patrons.
