Annual Art in The Garden is Aug. 7 at Botanical Center in Rock Island

Painted rocks by Cheri Olson will be among pieces for sale at Art in the Garden.

This year’s Art in the Garden is Saturday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island.

The 5th-annual event features local and regional artists — including potters, painters, sculptors, jewelry makers and others who are inspired by nature to create. Their works will be exhibited and sold at this outdoor show.

The 5th-annual Art in the Garden will be Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Quad City Botanical Center, Rock Island.

The handcrafted works will be on display in tents throughout the gardens and a variety of art price points will be offered. Pieces to be sold include sculpture, jewelry, pottery, quilts, paintings and painted objects, charcoal and pastel art, woodwork, collage art, nature-themed home décor, and photography.

The event includes music by Roger Carlson and friends, demonstrations by the wood turners and fun activities for the kids.

Art in the Garden tickets are $8 for adults; $4 for members and kids 5-15, and free for kids 4 and younger. You can purchase tickets at qcgardens.com or pay at the gate. Advanced ticket purchasers will be entered to win a $20 voucher to spend at Art in the Garden. One prize is available. Winner will be drawn August 5th and contacted via email.

Jonathan Turner -- who has called the Quad Cities home since 1995 -- has decades of experience as a professional journalist and pianist.
