It’ time to celebrate! The Argrow’s 5th year anniversary celebration will be held on September 15th at 6pm at the Quad City Botanical Garden! This year will include a virtual speech from Mrs. Joy Reyes. Joy is the Founder and Executive Director of a social enterprise called New Hope Girls. She works with women and girl survivors of gender-based violence in the Dominican Republic reminding them that they are “created for more.” The women create beautiful handbags and design a bag annually with Vera Bradley during the International Women’s Day! Botanical Center Seeking Storytellers to Feature in New Plants of the World Exhibit

The Quad City Botanical Center is seeking storytellers to contribute to their newest exhibit, Plants of the World: People Behind the Plants. This new, unique exhibit is being designed to capture stories of Quad Citizens from around the world – who now call the Quad Cities home. Our tropical Sun Garden houses hundreds of varieties of tropical plants from around the world, and they have the potential to tell meaningful stories about the people that enjoy them. Annual Art in The Garden is Aug. 7 at Botanical Center in Rock Island

This year’s Art in the Garden is Saturday, Aug. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Quad City Botanical Center, 2525 4th Ave., Rock Island. The 5th-annual event features local and regional artists — including potters, painters, sculptors, jewelry makers and others who are inspired by nature to create. Their works will be exhibited and sold at this outdoor show. The handcrafted works will be on display in tents throughout the gardens and a variety of art price points will be offered. BREAKING: Ryan Wille Named New Executive Director of Quad City Botanical Center

Ryan Wille, a former marketing manager of Quad City Botanical Center, has been chosen next executive director of the Rock Island-based nonprofit, succeeding Ami Porter. A 2009 graduate of Bradley University in Peoria, Wille was the marketing manager at QCBC (2525 4th Ave., Rock Island) from March 2016 to October 2018, and since then has been development manager of the Humane Society of Scott County. “Ryan, he is a great leader.
