Effective Monday, Aug. 2, Sarah Stevens has been named interim CEO of The Project of the Quad Cities. After nearly five years with the organization, outgoing CEO Andrea Meirick has accepted a new opportunity in Cincinnati, Ohio. “I am so sad to be leaving The Project and all its wonderful employees and clients,” Meirick said Monday in a Facebook post. “But I am certain the organization will continue to thrive as it adopts a health care model focused on eliminating the health inequities faced by the folks we serve.” Since 1986, The Project has served people living with HIV/AIDS with remarkable... Read More

In honor of June being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer (LGBTQ) Pride Month, The Project of the Quad Cities is for the first time holding a free Pride at Bass Street Landing on June 4-5. Presented with sponsors ReCept Pharmacy (The Project on-site pharmacy at 1701 River Drive, Moline) and Arconic, the nearby event (on the plaza off 17th and River Drive) will be 6 to 11 p.m. Friday, June 4, and 9:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday, June 5, including food, live music, drag performances and education. At a time of unprecedented economic, racial, social and health upheaval, some Quad-Cities LGBTQ leaders are taking comfort in the recent U.S. Supreme Court decision on workplace civil rights.
