Rock Island School District Serves Up Over 39,000 Meals To Local Kids

Rock Island Milan School District 41 has been doing an awesome job in helping to feed kids in need during the covid break — feeding both their minds and bodies. The district announced today that since March 23 they have served more than 13,000 meal kits to our students. That equates to more than 39,000 individual meals (based on the three-day meal packages in the kits). The next meal distribution dates will be Monday, April 27 and Thursday, April 30. Illinois Quad-Cities Schools Remaining Closed For Rest Of The School Year

According to a story released a few minutes ago on Chicago’s NBC 5 affiliate, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker will be making an announcement closing Illinois schools for the remainder of the school year today at 2:30 p.m. The announcement will be part of Pritzker’s daily coronavirus briefing, which you can watch live here According to the story, distance learning via computer, which was put in place over the past week, will remain in effect through the end of this current school year.
