Lynne Stukart of LeClaire can’t sing the praises of a staggeringly huge virtual choir loudly enough. Over $100,000 In Grants Awarded To Area Non-profit Organizations

A number of local businesses and groups will benefit from over $100,000 in grants recently awarded. The Quad Cities Community Foundation has awarded nearly $110,000 to 10 Quad Cities nonprofits to strengthen their ability to do their work. The Community Foundation’s Nonprofit Capacity Building Grants provide funding to local organizations for staff training, board development, strategic planning, technology and more to help them carry out their missions. Quad City Symphony Riverfront Pops Back at LeClaire Park Sept. 12

The Quad City Symphony Orchestra (QCSO) plans to reschedule its Quad City Bank & Trust Riverfront Pops event to Saturday, Sept. 12, at 7 p.m., back at its longtime home at Davenport’s LeClaire Park. It previously was scheduled for Arsenal Island (for the second time) on Aug. 15. Many Quad-Cities Arts Groups Get Emergency Relief Funding

Several Q-C arts and cultural organizations received emergency relief funding, among 173 grants throughout Iowa announced Wednesday by the Iowa Department of Cultural Affairs (IDCA). The department awarded more than $1.1 million in grants — $923,372 for emergency relief and another $178,000 in humanities grants to help Iowa cultural organizations rebound from the financial impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. Funding for the emergency relief grants was made possible by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
