The Quad City Storm and UnityPoint Health® –Trinity are excited to announce the third annual Hockey Fights Cancer ice painting event will be held from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, January 31 at the TaxSlayer Center.  Lavender paint and paint brushes will be provided for the general public to paint the names of friends and family members who have battled or are currently battling cancer on the ice.  The names will remain displayed on the ice for the Storm’s Hockey Fights Cancer Night game on Saturday February 5. Quad City Storm Returns Home To Face Huntsville This Weekend!

The Storm returns to the TaxSlayer Center this weekend for the first time in three weeks to battle the first place Huntsville Havoc on Friday and Saturday.  It is the two team’s first matchup of the season.   The Storm has picked up points in nine of its last ten games and holds a league best 9-2-1 record on home ice. World famous Iowa Hawkeye mascot Herky the Hawk will be in attendance Friday night at the TaxSlayer Center when the Storm battle the Peoria Rivermen.  At the conclusion of the game Herky will take flight to Indianapolis to cheer on the Iowa Hawkeye football team as they battle the Michigan Wolverines in the Big 10 Championship Game. Quad City Storm Stay Hot On Road Trip, Return Home This Weekend

The Quad City Storm collected five of six possible points on this past weekend’s three game road trip. Thursday in Birmingham the Storm beat the Bulls 5-2 in the two team’s first matchup of the season.  The Bulls struck first in period two to take the first lead of the game.  Quad City answered with three straight scores by Taylor Pryce, Shane Bennett and Pryce’s second of the night.  Kasey Kulczycki got the Bulls back within one before Filip Virgilli scored for the Storm and made it 4-2.  Nick Mangone added an empty net goal to set the final score at 5-2. The Quad City Storm (9-1-0-1) tonight heads south for a pair of games versus the Pensacola Ice Flyers (4-4-1).  Game begins at 7:15 CT. The Quad City Storm extended its franchise record winning streak to eight games this past weekend with a 4-3 win versus Peoria on Friday and a 4-1 win over the Evansville Thunderbolts Saturday. Quad City Storm Extend Winning Streak, Home For Autism And Military Nights This Weekend

Friday the Quad City Storm won its franchise record fifth game in a row by a score of 2-1.  The victory came on the road against the Peoria Rivermen and was also the Storm’s first ever regular season win in Peoria. Storm forward Marcus Ortiz opened the scoring with his fourth goal of the season in the first period.  Another newcomer to this year’s roster, Matt Stoia, buried the eventual game winner at 16:26 of the second period.  The goal was the first in a Storm uniform for Stoia.  Peoria scored late in period three to cut the deficit to one but was unable to beat Quad City netminder Bailey... Read More
