June 16th is the last day to register for Competitive Tryouts for East Moline Silvis Soccer Club! Tryouts will be a little different this year due to the Covid-19 restrictions put in place by the state. Tryouts this year will be an “intent to play” rather than a physical tryout.  Physical tryouts will not happen this year. Illinois Youth Soccer has been working to stop the spread of coronavirus through youth soccer by cancelling events through, at least, April 15, with more cancellations potentially being announced. They’ve got the backing of one of the greatest soccer players of all time, Cristiano Ronaldo. Today, Ronaldo issued a statement about the coronavirus through his instagram. Sean Leary Soccer Camp Postponed Due To Coronavirus Concerns

The first annual Sean Leary Pre-Season Soccer Camp, originally due to begin Saturday, has been postponed due to concerns about the coronavirus. Officials at the venue for the event, Rivers Edge in Davenport, have been considering postponing events in light of the recent cancellations by other organizations and venues, including Moline’s TaxSlayer, and the camp decided to get ahead of the situation. The 08 East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Spartans were already ranked in the top 15 in the state going into the Muscatine Soccer Club tournament June 9, and after a thoroughly dominating performance, it’s justifiable to see them chasing a top ten ranking soon. The Spartans completely demolished their opponents, outscoring AYSO, Quad Cities Rush and the home team of Muscatine Soccer Club by a combined goal total of 18-1. After a thrilling 7-6 championship win on penalty kicks in the Armed Forces Cup, the U11 East Moline Silvis Soccer Club Spartans are definitely looking like a team to be reckoned with. The Spartans rose to being ranked 15 in the state in the latest GotSoccer ratings after the tournament gold, knocking out Peoria FC and the Q-C Rush in the prelims before taking on and taking out the Q-C Strikers in an electrifying final game.
