Hemingway Biographer to do WQPT Virtual Q & A April 27

In conjunction with the new Ken Burns PBS documentary on author Ernest Hemingway, WQPT will hold a special 30-minute virtual screening and discussion with Mary V. Dearborn, a Hemingway biographer featured in the film, on April 27. WQPT Hosting Ken Burns Documentary ‘The Gene’

WQPT will host a 45 minute screening of the Ken Burns documentary “The Gene: An Intimate History” on Thursday, September 17 at 7:30pm at the Blue Grass Drive In as part of the Quad City Engineering and Science Council’s “Teacher’s Night Out” series. The Bluegrass Drive In Theatre is located just off of Hwy 61 in Blue Grass, Iowa at 774 W. Mayne Street. Educators who attend the screening will receive free SWAG and have the opportunity to win a 23&Me Health+Ancestry kit. WQPT Invites Public To Preview New Ken Burns Documentary

WQPT, PBS for the Quad-Cities, invites the public to preview screenings of a new Ken Burns documentary “THE MAYO CLINIC: FAITH – HOPE – SCIENCE.”   Each screening event will include a 36-minute preview of the Ken Burns documentary about the Mayo Clinic, and a panel discussion of the film.   A “Science” themed screening – featuring a panel discussion with local doctors who trained at Mayo – will take place on Wednesday, September 19th at 6:00pm in the Putnam Museum’s Giant Screen Theater.   A “Faith” themed screening – featuring two of the leaders of the Rochester... Read More
