Out of thousands of entries, the Rock Island High School 2020 yearbook was recently recognized as one of the best yearbooks in the nation — the second year in a row that Rocky’s yearbook staff has received this honor. Herff Jones, a division of Varsity Brands and the leading provider of graduation and educational products announced its “best-of” publication, Portfolio, which showcases best-in-class yearbook work from students across North America. Teenagers Award $10,000 Through Quad-Cities Community Foundation Program

A group of local teenagers have spent the past year identifying promising opportunities and pressing needs in the Quad Cities area as part of the Quad Cities Community Foundation’s Teens for Tomorrow Program. The students immersed themselves in the grant process by learning about community needs, developing a grant opportunity, evaluating applications, visiting with nonprofits, and now, awarding grants. Eldridge's Grace Bjustrom Wins 2020 Evans Scholarship

DAVENPORT—Grace Bjustrom of Eldridge has been named as the 2020 recipient of the Thomas K. Evans Memorial Scholarship. Bjustrom, a soon-to-be graduate of North Scott High School (Eldridge), will receive $5,000 toward tuition, room and board at Iowa State University (Ames), where she plans to study agricultural engineering and marketing in the fall. “Grace has an impressive academic record, and she wowed us with her involvement in STEM activities.
