Do you love sewing and your Library? Then you have the perfect combination for adding to our community quilt project! Love your Library, but don’t sew at all? You’re still perfect for adding to our quilt!  Using books, reading, or community as the theme, create your own one-of-a-kind 10″ quilt block to donate to our project. The Davenport Public Library is excited to offer the annual WinterReading Program! From January 1 to January 31, Davenport Public Library will be participating in Beanstack’sFifth Annual Winter Reading Challenge, sponsored by Lerner Publishing Group. The Winter Reading Program is open to all ages and all are encouraged to participate in this funprogram. Try New Spices And Recipes At Davenport Public Library

The world is full of different spices and we are going to attempt to try them all! Join us on the first Tuesday of each month November through December at 6:30 pm at Fairmount (3000 N. Fairmount St.) as we try a new spice and recipe, which will be provided to you. Come back the following month to discuss the spice and recipes we tried. Join us in learning how to practically care for and preserve materials at home with tips and tricks from the staff of the Richardson-Sloane Special Collections Center. Each workshop will showcase different techniques and share applicable knowledge on creating tools and demonstrating methods of preservation for photographs, letters, books, and more.
