Tripmaster Monkey New Record 'My East Is Your West' Due August 6!

Tripmaster Monkey, one of the most commercially and creatively successful bands in Quad-Cities music history, will release its first album in more than two decades, “My East Is Your West,” in record stores and online stores and sites on August 6. The group — guitarist and singer Jamie Toal, singer Chris Bernat, drummer Marty Reyhons, and bassist Wes Haas — is not signed to a label and has released the record independently. Tripmaster Monkey released its first album in over 20 years, “My East Is Your West,” this week, and like the veering navigation implied by the title, it’s been a strange trek of various directions for the members over the past few decades back to their current reunion. It was a situation akin to signing divorce papers after a three-year separation: On March 30, the Davenport Daytrotter operation ceased recording bands coming through the area, and on April 1, the DT owners, Wolfgang’s Vault/Paste, announced that they would be closing up shop here in the Q-Cs and consolidating their recording in their already-existing Atlanta and New York studios. Tripmaster Monkey Kickstarting New Record Due In Late September

Tripmaster Monkey, one of the most commercially and creatively successful bands in Quad-Cities music history, has reunited to begin recording a new album, and has begun a kickstarter campaign to get fans involved in the process and raise money for the project. Tripmaster Monkey, one of the most commercially and creatively successful bands in Quad-Cities music history, has reunited to begin recording a new album. The group — guitarist and singer Jamie Toal, singer Chris Bernat, drummer Marty Reyhons, and bassist Wes Haas — is not signed to a label and plans on releasing the record independently, sources with the band said. Grammy nominated singer/songwriter Ray LaMontagne announces tour dates for his 25-date North American Just Passing Throughacoustic tour. John Stirratt of Wilco will accompany Ray on bass throughout the tour. The tour will kick off on October 7 in Portland, ME before making its way to the Adler Theatre in Davenport on Wednesday, October 24 at 7:30 p.m.  During the tour, LaMontagne will play New York City’s legendary Radio City Music Hall on October 10.
