DAVENPORT, IA – Registration for the upcoming school year for Stepping Stones, a Davenport-based after-school program, will open at 8 a.m., Monday, July 19. Registration will be conducted online only at http://www.davenportschools.org/steppingstones. Stepping Stones serves preschool and elementary students in the Davenport Community School District and is open from 2:50 to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and 1:50 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. BREAKING NEWS: Tyson Foods Inc., based in Dexter, MO, is recalling ready-to-eat chicken products that may be adulterated with Listeria monocytogenes, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS). “Some of those products were served at our weekly meal pick-up site from Davenport Learning Center on these dates: Feb. 9, March 30, May 4, May 18, June 22 and June 29,” said Coni Dobbels, DCSD Supervisor of Food and Nutrition Services. “If anyone has the chicken fajita meat still in their possession, it must be disposed of immediately.” The frozen,... Read More

DAVENPORT, IA – The Davenport Community School District website offers a wealth of free online educational resources, which can be found on the Summer Learning page at https://www.davenportschools.org/summer2021. Media specialists have prepared summer reading lists for students, grades 1 through 12. The lists are divided into groups for grades 1-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. DAVENPORT, IA – Summer should be a fun time for kids to enjoy family gatherings and vacation time. But for children in some families, summer can bring hunger. The Summer Food Service Program of the Iowa Department of Education provides meals for those hungry children.
