Over 150 girls from all five intermediate schools in Davenport attended Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day put on by John Deere. They spent the day working individually and as a team to build a car that kept an egg safe, created a memory game, and worked on an engine. The Davenport Central High School girls swim team had another phenomenal meet this past Saturday! The Blue Devils came in second place in the regional meet! They won eight events and set four school records all together. Congratulations to Hannah Cousins, Isabel Heller, Simone Green, and Gabbie Hanson for ranking first place in the 200-yard medley relay. It was a beautiful morning to celebrate the opening of Veterans Memorial Park, and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff who lent a helping hand to this project. West High School Art teacher, David Schaeffer, painted the 40-foot mural honoring the brave men and women who serve. Andy Zinn, West’s Industrial Technology teacher, and his students designed and built the structure holding the painting in place. The District is extremely impressed by your achievements.
