Davenport Intermediate School Girls Attend John Deere Introduce A Girl To Engineering Day

Over 150 girls from all five intermediate schools in Davenport attended Introduce a Girl to Engineering Day put on by John Deere. They spent the day working individually and as a team to build a car that kept an egg safe, created a memory game, and worked on an engine. The students learned about careers in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM). They also toured John Deere Harvester Works!  Read More

Davenport Central Girls Swimming Place Second In Regional Meet

The Davenport Central High School girls swim team had another phenomenal meet this past Saturday! The Blue Devils came in second place in the regional meet! They won eight events and set four school records all together. Congratulations to Hannah Cousins, Isabel Heller, Simone Green, and Gabbie Hanson for ranking first place in the 200-yard medley relay. After the meet, Mary Selden was named regional athlete of the year and Brian Heller was named regional coach of the year. Way to go, Blue Devils!  Read More

Davenport Celebrates Opening Of Veteran's Park

It was a beautiful morning to celebrate the opening of Veterans Memorial Park, and we are incredibly proud of our students and staff who lent a helping hand to this project. West High School Art teacher, David Schaeffer, painted the 40-foot mural honoring the brave men and women who serve. Andy Zinn, West’s Industrial Technology teacher, and his students designed and built the structure holding the painting in place. The District is extremely impressed by your achievements. The finishing touches are underway on Davenport’s Veterans Memorial Park for Thursday’s dedication ceremony. Davenport West High School Art teacher, David Schaeffer, painted a 40-foot mural honoring America’s veterans that will be on display in the park. Davenport West High School Industrial Technology teacher, Andy Zinn, designed the structure that holds the painting and had his students build it.  Read More
