Dear Quad-City Rock ‘n’ Rollers,   I am Buddy Holly historian and researcher on the lookout for any fans out there that possibly attended one of his very last shows at the famous Capitol Theatre in Davenport, IA on January 29th, 1959. Four days later, his plane crashed soon after a show in Clear Lake, IA killing him, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Don McLean immortalized that moment as “The Day The Music Died” in his rock anthem American Pie. Buddy Holly Tribute Coming Back To Circa

Circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse in downtown Rock Island is thrilled to welcome back The Rave Ons in THAT’LL BE THE DAY: A TRIBUTE TO BUDDY HOLLY AND THE CRICKETS on May 30.  Circa ’21 audiences might recognize the leader of the Rave Ons, Todd Meredith.  Todd played Buddy in our first production of Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story in 2008. Oh, Boy! Take a step back in time this week at Circa ’21 for two amazing Buddy Holly tribute performances! That’ll Be The Day: A Tribute to Buddy Holly and The Crickets will be rocking and rolling at the Circa ’21 (1828 3rd Avenue Rock Island) this Thursday Jun 28 and Friday Jun 29. The Rave Ons, which include Todd Meredith, Billy Morey, Matt Watson and Jeremy Renner, will bring audiences the music of Buddy Holly and The Crickets with energy and excitement.
