Dear Quad-City Rock ‘n’ Rollers,

I am Buddy Holly historian and researcher on the lookout for any fans out there that possibly attended one of his very last shows at the famous Capitol Theatre in Davenport, IA on January 29th, 1959. Four days later, his plane crashed soon after a show in Clear Lake, IA killing him, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. Don McLean immortalized that moment as “The Day The Music Died” in his rock anthem American Pie. This Davenport stop also happens to be the only show where no photos has surfaced from…yet!

Please reach out to me if you, or someone you know attended this historical show. I would love an opportunity to ask you a few questions about your experience. It is very important to preserve any and all memories from this very important turning point in rock ‘n’ roll history. You may email me at sevan1@sympatico.ca , call or text me at 514.970.1959 and/or find me on Facebook via my name (I have a picture of Buddy Holly as my icon).

Let’s put a nickel in the jukebox and turn back the clock to those innocent and wonderful early days of rock ‘n’ roll!

Rave on!

Sevan Garabedian

Tristan Layne Tapscott has been dubbed the “Quad Cities’ P.T. Barnum” and although the person who initially said it meant it as an insult, he happily accepts the title.
