Come learn about the haunted history of this majestic Italianate style mansion on the banks of the Mississippi River. Flag placement set for May 26 at Rock Island National Cemetery

Cemetery volunteers are needed for placement of American flags on Thursday, May 26. The Rock Island National Cemetery is seeking volunteers to place American flags at the headstones of fallen service members in honor of Memorial Day. Work to place the flags will begin at 4 p.m., Thursday, May 26 rain or shine. Please plan to arrive early due to the incredible support from the greater Quad Cities area, which will result in high traffic into the Cemetery. Colonel Davenport Historical Foundation will be celebrating all that is spooky, with “Ghost Tales” this Saturday Sep 28 from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m., with scary stories told by local storytellers on the grounds of the Colonel Davenport House on Arsenal Island (Davenport Avenue Rock Island). Public Tours of Quarters One on Rock Island Arsenal This Weekend!

The Colonel Davenport Historical Foundation opens the historic Quarters One mansion to the public for guided tours this weekend! Tours of Quarters One will take place on Sunday July 28. The tours will begin at 12 p.m. and continue starting every half hour until the last tour at 4 p.m. The tour costs $10 per person. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
