Nothing Will Eclipse This Family Fun Night

The Putnam Museum is holding their final Family Fun Night of the season this Friday, April 21. The theme for this exciting and enjoyable evening will be Solar Eclipse!

The Discovery Dome will be open

with FREE showings of Discovery Dome shows, the Popular Astronomy Club & Quad City Astronomical Society will have telescopes available for solar/night sky observing (weather permitting), learn more about The Great American Eclipse at the Solar Eclipse Table, and watch a demonstration of a comet being made! An actual Moon Rock will also be on display!

“Dream Big” will play on the GIANT Screen at 6:15 with a presentation by Dr. Paul Sipiera, President and CEO Planetary Studies Foundation, will be given on “How and Where to View The Great American Total Solar Eclipse” to follow at 7.

There is no cost for the activities that take place in the Grand Lobby, however, general museum admission is required to experience the museum and science center. Movie ticket prices do apply to view films. Admission prices can be found at: http://www.putnam.org/Visit/Plan/Admission-Packages.

Millions of people across the United States will see nature’s most wondrous spectacle this Friday, a total eclipse of the Sun. It is a scene of unimaginable beauty.
