MetroRock Housing Connection Working On Acquisition Of Former Hoffman School
East Moline – MetroRock Housing Connection is working collaboratively with the East Moline School District 37 to acquire the former Hoffman school building in East Moline for housing development.
“Right now we are in the early pre-development phase,” said Amy Clark, President and CEO of MetroRock. “Our goal is to explore an adaptive reuse of the building that preserves its historic character while bringing it back into productive use for the community.
“As part of that effort, we are evaluating eligibility for both federal and state historic tax credits, along with other potential funding sources that could support redevelopment aimed at expanding the supply of safe, affordable housing and closing critical housing gaps in the community,” Clark added.
“We see this as an opportunity to reinvest in an important community asset, and MetroRock Housing Connection, with support from the City of East Moline, are committed to a thoughtful process that balances preservation, financial feasibility, and community benefit,” Clark said. “As the project progresses and more details are finalized, we look forward to sharing updates.”
