National Philanthropy Day to Honor Quad Cities Changemakers

Davenport, Iowa (Oct. 15, 2025) — The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Quad Cities Chapter invites the community to celebrate National Philanthropy Day on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport. Breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:30 a.m., followed by a keynote presentation and awards program.

The event recognizes individuals, organizations, and businesses whose generosity and leadership strengthen the Quad Cities community.

Keynote speaker Dr. Anna Pruitt, senior vice president and philanthropic strategist at Bank of America Private Bank, will present findings from the 2025 Bank of America Study of Philanthropy. Her address, “Decoding the Motivations and Strategies of Affluent Donors,” will explore trends shaping charitable giving among high-net-worth households.

AFP Quad Cities will also present its annual National Philanthropy Day Awards, honoring outstanding contributions to the region’s nonprofit and civic life.

2025 Honorees

  • Outstanding Fundraising Professional: Ashley Hicks, nominated by Angie Kendall, Hand in Hand
  • Outstanding Philanthropists or Charitable Family: Jim and Jayne Field, nominated by Ashley Hicks and Angie Kendall, Hand in Hand
  • Outstanding Planned Giving Professional: Anne Calder, CAP, nominated by Quad City Planned Giving Council
  • Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser: Tom Thoms, nominated by Liz Gougeon and Nicole Mann, EveryChild
  • Outstanding Youth/Youth Group: North Scott High School Students, nominated by Jayna Gallagher, River Bend Food Bank

“National Philanthropy Day is our chance to spotlight the generosity and leadership that make the Quad Cities such a vibrant place to live,” said Jenny Colvin, AFP Quad Cities Chapter president. “These honorees exemplify what it means to give back with heart, purpose, and passion.”
