Sure Sign of Spring: Rock Island Public Library Seed Library Available

After a long winter, area gardeners are ready to plan and sprout their gardens, and the Rock Island Public Library is ready to help. RIPL Seed Library packets are now available for pickup or distribution by mail. The Seed Library is a free collection of seeds suited for the local growing area.  Seeds are available now for pickup inside the Downtown Library, 401 19th Street, Rock Island. The seeds are free, and no library card is required. Each household can pick up five free packets per month. The Bison Bridge Foundation debuted a new video today of the proposed site for the future National Park! The video displayed a panoramic view of the current bridge and the future spot for the National Park, as previously reported on QuadCities.com, which would include a bison crossing, breathtaking views and other amenities. Since national hero Chad Pregracke founded East Moline-based Living Lands & Waters in 1998, the nonprofit has worked on removing trash from 24 rivers in 21 states. With the help of more than 115,000 volunteers, it’s removed 10.5 million pounds of debris from U.S. waterways.
