If you have not made it out to a Abernathy’s Bag Sale, here the dealio- -Dress weather appropriate, this is an outdoor event located on the side of Abernathy’s across from 392 (the coffee shop). -Show up early! On Wednesday, March 27, 2024, Congressman Eric Sorensen (IL-17) toured Head Start facilities in Rock Falls to discuss efforts in Congress to invest in early childhood education programming in Western Illinois. Congressman Eric Sorensen serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology. Prior to serving in Congress, Sorensen was a local meteorologist in Rockford and the Quad Cities for nearly 20 years. Western Illinois University Facilities Management Building Services Employee Cindy Britton has been named the Al and Elaine Goldfarb Civil Service Employee of the Month for March. Britton started at WIU part time in 2005 and was hired full time in 2010. Before WIU, Britton’s favorite roles were being a wife and mother.
