Anderson’s First Book Helps Out Kids And Charity In Colorful Fashion

Children leaving their homes due to domestic abuse or financial instability are being given the chance to turn to a brighter chapter in their lives by the Muscatine Center of Social Action, and local author and artist Christopher Anderson is helping them to turn the pages on their lives in a more friendly and colorful way. Muscatine’s Anderson, 35, is the creative force behind the new book “Boots,” which will be given to children entering the shelter. Opera Quad Cities is having to watch their butterfly fly away into next year. The local arts group announced tonight that they must reschedule performances of Puccini’s opera, Madame Butterfly to June, 2021. Theaters in the Quad-Cities and nationwide are canceling spring and summer shows, due to Covid-19. The latest response to the global pandemic is the Augustana College-based Mississippi Bend Players (MBP), which is shelving its 2020 season.
