Western Illinois University's Delta Upsilon Donates to Humane Society of McDonough County

The Western Illinois Chapter of Delta Upsilon Fraternity recently presented a check to the Humane Society of McDonough County. The $850 donation is for the New Shelter Building Campaign. The funds were raised by the chapter during its spring semester philanthropy fundraising. The donation is an outgrowth of several members of the chapter this past school year becoming involved with the McDonough County Animal Shelter as part of the chapter’s community service. The Rock Island-Milan School District is offering breakfast and lunch at no cost to children under the age of 18 in June and July, regardless of income level or school district boundary area. Meals will be offered at Rock Island High School (1400 25th Avenue) from June 2 -29. Breakfast is from 7:30-8:30 a.m. and Lunch is from 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Meals must be consumed on site. Today, during a House Agriculture Committee markup, Congresswoman Cheri Bustos (IL-17) helped advance six bipartisan bills to combat inflation, promote competition and shore up ag supply chains.
