The Western Illinois University School of Music will present a special Symphony Orchestra Concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 19 in the College of Fine Arts and Communication (COFAC) Recital Hall.

The WIU Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Kenny Lee, assistant professor of Cello and Director of Orchestral Activities, will perform Gustav Mahler’s Symphony No. 1 in D Major, “Titan”, with student, faculty and alumni musicians.

The program will include:

Symphony No. 1 in D Major, “Titan” – Gustav Mahler (1860–1911)
I. Slow. Dragging. Like a sound of nature—
At the beginning, very leisurely
II. With strong movement, but not too fast
III. Solemn and measured, without dragging
IV. Stormily

This performance is free and open for general audience seating and will be live-streamed on the School of Music’s YouTube channel and Facebook page.
