Quad Cities Nova Singers Announces New 40th Concert Season

Nova Singers, led by award-winning conductor Dr. Laura Lane, will launch its 40th season this October.

The beloved choir on Monday announced its 2025-26 concert season, continuing its mission of bringing the finest choral music to audiences in Galesburg and the Quad Cities, and to push the envelope regarding innovative programming, a press release says. The 40th-anniversary season opens on October 18th and 19th with In Our Voices, featuring a world premiere by renowned Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds and a reunion for singers from the past 40 years.

December’s concert, A Nova Christmas celebrates the holiday season with favorite carols and other songs of the season.  In April 2026, Nova Singers will collaborate with Galesburg Community Chorus to perform the Maurice Duruflé Requiem (1947) with organ and orchestra.

         Saturday, April 25, 7:30 p.m., First Lutheran Church, Galesburg

Sunday, April 26, 4 p.m., St. Paul Lutheran Church, Davenport

 

Season tickets are available now at www.novasingers.com: $50 for adults, $40 for seniors (62+).  Those who subscribe now to Nova’s 2025-2026 season will receive a substantial discount. Plus, tickets never lose their value as season tickets are accepted at any Nova Singers 2025-26 concert regardless of the concert printed on the ticket.

Nova Singers is a professional vocal ensemble under the direction of Laura Lane, known for its creative and moving programming and for the spirit and charm the singers bring to their music, the group release says. Lane has been serving the greater Galesburg and Quad-Cities communities for 40 years, bringing her passion for music and her expressive power to audiences and singers alike.

Jonathan Turner -- who has called the Quad Cities home since 1995 -- has decades of experience as a professional journalist and pianist. His experience writing for daily newspapers, public radio and local TV encompasses a wide range of subjects, including the arts, politics, education, economic development, historic preservation, business, and tourism.
