Nova Singers, led by award-winning conductor Dr. Laura Lane, will launch its 40^th season this October.

The beloved choir on Monday announced its 2025-26 concert season, continuing its mission of bringing the finest choral music to audiences in Galesburg and the Quad Cities, and to push the envelope regarding innovative programming, a press release says. The 40^th-anniversary season opens on October 18th and 19th with In Our Voices, featuring a world premiere by renowned Latvian composer Ēriks Ešenvalds and a reunion for singers from the past 40 years.

December’s concert, A Nova Christmas celebrates the holiday season with favorite carols and other songs of the season.  In April 2026, Nova Singers will collaborate with Galesburg Community Chorus to perform the Maurice Duruflé Requiem (1947) with organ and orchestra.

Season tickets are available now at www.novasingers.com: $50 for adults, $40 for seniors (62+).  Those who subscribe now to Nova’s 2025-2026 season will receive a substantial discount. Plus, tickets never lose their value as season tickets are accepted at any Nova Singers 2025-26 concert regardless of the concert printed on the ticket.

Jonathan Turner

Jonathan Turner -- who has called the Quad Cities home since 1995 -- has decades of experience as a professional journalist and pianist. His experience writing for daily newspapers, public radio and local TV encompasses a wide range of subjects, including the arts, politics, education, economic development, historic preservation, business, and tourism.

Jonathan most loves writing about music and the arts (which he now does as a freelancer for the River Cities Reader and Visit Quad Cities). He has a passion for accompanying musicals, singers, choirs and instrumentalists, including playing for QC Music Guild's 2023 productions of RENT and SWEENEY TODD. He is assistant music director and accompanist for the spring 2025 Music Guild show, ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE. He wrote an original musical based on The Book of Job, which premiered at Playcrafters in 2010. Jonathan penned a 175-page history book about downtown Davenport, that was published by The History Press in 2016, and a travel guide about the QC published by Reedy Press in 2022.
